Cons optical quality may not be high enough to shoot very sharp slides

Sigma 50-500mm EX is a relatively new addition to the Sigma EX family. So far, I haven't heard too many reports concerning its reliability and performance. However, I think it is an interesting lens in terms of versatility and image quality. Let's point at the positive things first.
