Epinions Nice addition to your digital camera!

by  lab1172007,  Oct 12, 2007
Pros: Crisp pictures, great telephoto and wide angle capabilities, great macro, little to no distortion, lightweight
Cons: No image stabilizer, slow at long end, low light difficulties.
The Bottom Line: A great lens for 'all around' use. Has amazing wide angle and telephoto capabilities with very little distortion. Great macro with bright crisp color and contrast.
Review: Overall I recently switched over from the kit lens to the Tamron for use with my Pentax K10D. This lens is a lightweight compact lens that has made some improvements on the existing 18-200mm lens by adding additional telephoto range. ...

Epinions Great all purpose walk around lens for under $470.00

by  leedye,  Sep 6, 2007
Pros: Price, great range, replaced many lenses, 6 year warranty(canon is one), good image, ok bokey
Cons: Images could be sharper, no IS but for this price I did not expect it.
The Bottom Line: I do recommend this lens if you are looking for a solid and flexible lens for your Canon.
Review: My primary persuasion in purchasing this lens was to reduce the amount of lenses I have to lug around. Carrying a Canon 30D, Canon 17-40 L, Tamron mid zoom, and a Canon 70-200L f2.8is makes things very heavy and clumsy. Not too mention it just takes ...

by  dgeesaman,  May 11, 2008
Pros: Perfect for the entry-level SLR shooter who isn't certain what lens to buy
Cons: Soft at 200-250mm, that's about it
The Bottom Line: A great lens for general purpose outdoor shooting. Recommended for those who just have a kit lens.
Review: I shoot a Canon 40D for fun, mostly things like birthday parties, horse shows, and some sports. These events place a premium on being ready for anything in an instant. The Tamron 18-250mm is the lens for the job. The zoom is, well, extreme. Even on ...
