Epinions The Canon PowerShot Pro90 IS Digital Camera - Like a Work of Art...

by  jag2112,  Apr 18, 2002
Pros: Incredible lens capable of 10x zoom. Loaded with features. Sexy design.
Cons: A little pricey. Not a true 3 megapixel camera.
The Bottom Line: Form follows function with the Canon Powershot Pro90 IS Digital Camera. And what a form it has...
Review: Canon has long been renowned as manufacturers of incredibly well made cameras for years. Their line of EOS Rebel camera helped changed the way people took pictures and viewed 35mm SLR's. Now they hope to do the same in the digital world with their...

Epinions Great Camera

by  kitwetzler,  Jul 24, 2001
Pros: ergonomic, easy to use, great lens, decent focus, decent flash support
Cons: some chromatic aberration, focus has trouble in low light, no optical viewfinder
The Bottom Line: It does everything that I need it too, great zoom, good wide angle, good indoor shots, fast, etc.
Review: I have had a LOT of digital cameras, from an Olympus D-600L, a Fuji FinePix 4800, a Nikon 990, a Sony DSC-505V, an Olympus E-10, and an Olympus C700Z.

I wanted a camera for taking pictures at the race track and for indoor photography at...

Epinions The Best Non SLR Digital Camera Available.

by  mrspot68,  May 6, 2002
Pros: Excellent Quality, Easy to Use, VERY SLR Like.
Cons: No Macro Function
The Bottom Line: A high end SLR type camera that is way beyond any other non SLR Digital camera on the market today in both features and quality.
Review: I have reviewed, tested and used most other high end digital cameras on on the market and without exception this is the best. Being an avid SLR camera fanatic for many many years I was looking for a digital camera that as closely as possible mimicked...

Epinions Great Pictures for Shaky Hands

by  timhr950,  Dec 29, 2002
Pros: Image Stabilization, 10X Zoom, Great Lens, Easy to use Digital SLR
Cons: No Newer with 5 Meg Pixels, Out of Production
The Bottom Line: Get one of these cameras while there are still a few left in the distribution chain. It will provide great pictures.
Review: I have never been happy with my standard photos because I do not have a surgeon's hands. Image Stabilization - a must with a 10X zoom cures that; crisp pictures every time. This camera is great. The 10X Optical Zoom is a real zoom that does not sacrifice...

Epinions Great all purpose digital camera

by  jka4280,  Nov 3, 2002
Pros: 10x optical image stabilized zoom Microdrive compatible Hot shoe
Cons: Canon software doesn't retain shooting info when converting RAW files
The Bottom Line: If you can find one, buy it. It will serve almost everyone's needs.
Review: Today, everyone is looking for more pixels. Too bad - the herds are missing out on this great camera. True, you won't get a very pretty 16x20 out of it, but how many people actually print 16x20 photos, or have got monitors running at more than 2.1...

Epinions A great camera and WHY I PREFER ANOTHER

by  dancilmi,  Jun 13, 2001
Pros: Great lens, 10x zoom, good flash, easy to use.
Cons: Cannot accept alkaline batteries, small included memory card.
The Bottom Line: If battery life is not an issue, and the 10x zoom will be of use to you, this camera should be on your short list of models to consider.
Review: Recently my father borrowed my digital camera (a Nikon Coolpix 990) to take some pictures for eBay. He used it for about 2 weeks, and decided that he wanted a digital camera of his own. As the family computer, photography, and electronics expert (I was...

Epinions excellent prosumer digital camera

by  twalker294,  Feb 17, 2002
Pros: SLR style form factor, flash hotshoe, 10x zoom, picture quality
Cons: - limited functionality with EX series speedlights - poor low light focus
The Bottom Line: If you are looking for a high quality digital camera but don't want to spend $2000-3000 on a digital SLR, the Pro90 is an excellent choice.
Review: The Canon Pro90IS is my fifth digital camera (others were Olympus D340R, Olympus D400Z, Nikon Coolpix 950, and Canon S100 Elph.) The Pro90 replaced my Nikon 950. In my opinion, the Pro90 is the best overall package in a digital camera under $1000. Is it...

Epinions A Lens with a Handle?

by  tompc,  Jul 9, 2001
Pros: Great, fast zoom plus lots of control
Cons: The power zoom and digital viewfinder take some practice; proprietary battery
The Bottom Line: If you want lots of control and already own an EOS Speedlite, this camera will give you much of the functionality of the $3000 EOS D30.
Review: My first impression of the camera was that it was a long lens attached to a grip, but after using it for a few weeks, it's become pretty intuitive to use. As a longtime Canon EOS user, I was sold by the EOS-type control dial, the ability to use one of my...

Epinions The Canon Powershot PRO 90IS “A Sheep in Wolf’s Clothing?”

by  Howard_Creech, lead in Electronics ,  Jul 7, 2001
Pros: Tilt/Flip LCD, 10X Optical Zoom Lens, Image Stabilization
Cons: Electric Viewfinder, Battery, Ergonomics, Resolution, Cost
The Bottom Line: Too Little, and Too Late. Why couldn’t Canon make the PRO 90 IS a 5 megapixel digital camera with a 10X IS Optical Zoom?
Review: The “PRO” in the Canon Powershot Pro 90 IS’s name is something of a misnomer, since the camera is highly unlikely to appeal to “pro” photographers. That’s not to say that the Pro 90 IS isn’t an interesting camera, it is, unfortunately the camera has...
