Pros: - good optics, good at 1.8, excellent from 2.8 - cheap - excellent portrait lens

Cons: - body is all plastic but that's why it's cheap and it isn't that disturbing

The Bottom Line: If you're fine with the plastic body and looking for a fix portrait lens you can stop here. Excellent optics.

Pros: Cheap, SHARP, FAST

Cons: Plastic.

The Bottom Line: If you don't own it, BUY IT. No photographer should be without!

The Bottom Line: Buy. This lens breaks the rules of price/performance in photography. Dont get that silly fish eye or 500mm mirror lens. You will never use them anyway.

The Bottom Line: The "Nifty Fifty" is a steal for less than $100. However, I would pay the extra for the older variant that is more solid on the outside.

Pros: Takes beautiful portraits, stills, and moving shots! Great for beginners like me.

Cons: Doesn't take good close-proximity shots, so have another lens on hand.

The Bottom Line: For your first try at a lens besides the kit lens, this one will give you the most for your money.

Pros: Sharp, light, cheap, wide aperture

Cons: Nothing of note at this price!

The Bottom Line: If you haven't got one, get one. It's worth it if you only use it once in 6 months but you'll use it a lot more!
