You get what you pay for, Inferior lens

Pros: None significant, low price, good zoom range

Cons: Underexposes, not sharp, poor contrast, extreme barrel distortion, vignetting

The Bottom Line: This lens isn't worth the money savings. Underexposes, significant barrel distortion, and vignetting.

Review: The Nikkor name drew me in, but this is NOT a good lens. I've been using it for one year with a D80 body. I'll start with the worst flaw; this lens, the unit I received anyway, underexposes by a full two stops. That's an absolute disqualifier, ...

Pros: Versatile lens with flexible zoom range, great quality pictures, reasonable cost.

Cons: Larger size, more weight, sometimes blocks AF-assist light and on-camera flash coverage.

The Bottom Line: A good mid-grade quality lens with versatile and flexible zoom range, and very good picture quality.
