In this game, which is based on the animated film Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker, you take the role of Dark Knight, Batman of the future, to save Gotham City from the Joker. This side-scrolling game features hand-to-hand combat--also, you can explore the 16 levels in four gothic worlds to find ways to sneak up on your enemies. Use five different Batsuits, including attack, defense, and high jump--and use 10 Batman Gadgets, including Magnetic Nun Chaku, smoke bombs, Dark Knight Shield, retractable wings, and Dark Knight Discus. Take care of the Joker's henchmen, then do battle with the Clown Prince of Crime himself. Minimize

Cruel and unusual punishment.

Pros: It's batman beyond.....and it starts when you put it in the psx.

Cons: Everything.

The Bottom Line: A game that should never have been released in any reality. So terrible it must be a joke.

Batman Beyond: An Instant Classic ... And That's Not Good

Pros: music and sound are kind of cool, nice comic book style story frames between levels

Cons: weak gameplay, Double Dragon clone, repetitive

The Bottom Line: Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker is Double Dragon in a Batman suit. Don't waste your time or money on this game.

Review: I bet you thought that they'd stopped making Double Dragon clones? Well, dig out your NES everybody, 'cause Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker is poised to bring back the level fighting game --- or, maybe not.
