Tamron A09 Lens for Nikon

The new Tamron SP AF28-75mm f/2.8 XR LD Aspherical [IF] Macro utilises the XR size-reduction technology developed for the AF28-200mm XR Super Zoom (Model A03) and AF28-300 XR Ultra Zoom (Model A06) to create a fast standard zoom lens. Furthermore, the XR design contributes to the lens almost unbelievably compact size for a lens of this type featuring a filter diameter of 67mm, maximum diameter of 73mm (2.9"), and length of only 92mm (3.6"). And at only 510g (17.99 oz), the image of fast standard zooms as heavy and cumbersome is turned on its head. This lens represents the first in a new category - a fast standard zoom that can be used comfortably as the lens regularly attached to a camera body. In addition, to meet the needs of this dual-format (film and digital) world, the optical system of the lens is designed to provide optimum performance when used with the latest digital SLR cameras.

Tamron XR DI 28-75. I was looking for a general purpose lens to keep on a Canon 20D body most of the time. My requirements were, slight wide angle to short telephoto. Medium weight, nothing too heavy, but not something flimsy either. Fast, had to be a 3.5 or better and ideally had to be the same... Read full review »
