I was really disappointed with this lens. Took a few photos and things didn't look very sharp, so I did some testing, and I was surprised my the VERY soft images. Even my zoom lens were very much sharper.

Pros FAST. Sharp. Very good bokeh (quality of out-of-focus parts)

Cons heavier than you'd expect for a digital-only prime.

The mission of this lens is to bring digital cameras, which tend to crop images by a factor of about 1.5, back to the tried-and-true "normal" focal length around 50mm. So many incredible images were taken by the 50mm/f1.4 lenses on film, and Sigma has brought us back to that.

This lens is sharp at the center wide open.
Becomes very sharp as you stop it down at the corners.
at f8, the corners are pixel-peeping sharp.
Focus speed is ok.
